3rd Quarter Active Lifestyle Project: FITT Principle
Students, you are to post a comment here and answer all the questions on your assignment sheet. Reminder that all answers need to be in complete sentences and you are to apply what you leaned about the FITT Principle.
Im a High school senior attending Kea`au High School, and this is my 3rd year in Mr. Taketa's Body Conditioning class. Im in period 3, a.k.a. the best class! This class has by far given me one of the best workouts of my life.
The definition of the FITT Principle is Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type. We have been working on this kind of training since the school year started. In my active life, I usually work out 3-5 times a week. I recently sprained my ankle, so I havent for the past 2 weeks. But when I was well, and healthy, I was living an active lifestyle. I was the team captain, and a member of the Paddling team. We would head down to bay front every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, practicing 3 times a week. (Frequency) Paddling involved mainly cardiovascular endurance, and muscualr strength. I had to do many sprints, and running. Every practice I would run atleast 1.5 miles on the soft sand. Our conditioning in our lungs needed to be top shape. I would paddle after I ran. Doing sprints with 6 people in a 300+ lbs. canoe, and paddling long distances keeping together in timing, and working our form together as one, keeping our heart rates up. (High Intensity) Id practice with my team for anywhere from 1-3 hours every practice. (Time) Some of the exercises I would do was, timed sprints, timed long distance runs, paddling, core work-outs on the beach, timed swimming, stretching, and pull-ups. (Type).
In body conditiong class, we apply the FITT principle to all of our excersises, for example, our weekly cardio runs, riding bike, dumbells, core work-outs, parachutes, P90X, 5 dots, stretching, capture the football, and other cool, fun work-outs. Mr. Taketa has taught us many exercises that we can use to apply to our daily lives to help live an active lifestyle.
I choose this activity to write about in this blog because it is my passion, and although it is vigorous, I love it, and im proud of it, so that is exactly why I want to share what I do, with the world!
Body Conditioning class is the bomb!
...and to the underclassmen, take on the challenge as an elective! You will be happy you did.
how often do you do these activities? -I do these activities when im in my body coditioning class, at home, and when ever i am bored.
At what intensity levels do you work? High/Vigorous? Moderate? Low/light? - I work at a moderate speed. The reason for that is because i would want to it to a pace that i would be able to keep up with and not force myself.
How long is your workouts? - My workouts would at least be about to half-a-hour. On weekends it would be at least for 25 mintues.
What health related components did these address? - It made me drink more water and made me eat more healthy. By doing these workouts it made me kind fit and it motivates me to work out more and more each and everyday so that i may get the body i want and be happy with the results.
when and where did these activities take place? -These activities takes place at school or at home and sometimes it would be at the park. Mostly during the atfernoons.
We're students of the Kea'au High School Body Conditioning PE classes. The emphasis of our physical fitness based class targets health related physical fitness. We also periodically emphasize skill related components of fitness. Our end result is an understanding and appreciation of maximizing our physical well-being which directly relates to an overall balance in optimum health. Thus, we'll be lifelong participants of physical activity and active lifestyles.
Aloha World!
